University of Notre Dame
Master/PhD Program at the University of Notre Dame
We are glad to announce a new partnership with the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. The new program offers one of our outstanding Master students the opportunity to earn an additional Master degree in the U.S. and to enter Notre Dame's PhD program.
To be selected for the program, students need to apply in their first Master semester at the University of Bonn. The selected student will transfer to Notre Dame in the third semester.
Our partnership entails a tuition waiver and a stipend (currently $19,000 per year). This stipend requires up to 18 hours of service per week.
The admitted student will take three year-long courses in Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Econometrics at PhD level.
Upon completing 30 course credits and passing the comprehensive exams at the Master level or above, the admitted student will receive a Master degree from the University of Notre Dame.
The University of Bonn recognizes the successful completion of the first year of PhD studies at Notre Dame as advanced modules of its Master program.
The student will still need to write a Master thesis to complete the Master degree in Bonn.
Upon passing the comprehensive exams at the PhD level, the admitted student will have the option to continue PhD studies at Notre Dame.
